Heading into the seventh inning of the Southern Section-Toyota Division I championship at Dodger Stadium Friday night with the score still tied, 1-1, the question is: Who will crack first? Fourth-seeded Simi Valley or defending champions Long Beach Wilson?

Each team went 1-2-3 in the sixth inning and each keeps hitting into pop outs and can’t get any thing big off the respective pitchers. But each team is also only one defensive boo-boo away from throwing the title away. Of course, that could happen five innings from now at the rate things are happening.

Long Beach Wilson’s Aaron Hicks and Simi Valley’s Drew Sandler aren’t giving the hitters any real good looks and have been working the plate to near-perfection. Each is finding the corners and mixing up his pitches well.
