The North used strong pitching to beat the South on Tuesday in the 41st Orange County All-Star baseball game presented by the Kiwanis of Greater Anaheim.

Gerrit Cole of Orange Lutheran, Nick Ramirez of Katella and Adam Bartczak of Valencia led the mound corps.

Bartczak, who drove in a run in the first inning and scored a run in the second, was the game MVP. He pitched a shutout inning of relief. Cole pitched a shutout inning as a starter, and Ramirez struck out five in the final two innings. Cole is expected to be a first-round selection Thursday in the Major League Baseball draft.
