Baseball: Southland players remain hot prospects in Round 4

Chase D’Arnaud, Pepperdine’s shortstop by way of Los Alamitos High, has been selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates with pick No. 114 Thursday in Round 4 of the Major League Baseball first-year player draft.

UCLA infielder Brandon Crawford was selected by the San Francisco Giants with pick No. 117, and right-handed pitcher Scott Gorgen from UC Irvine was taken at No. 125 by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Norco product Josh Romanski, a left-handed pitcher for the University of San Diego, was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 128th pick, and another right-hander, David Roberts of Long Beach State was the 141st pick of the draft by the Cleveland Indians.
