Newhall Hart junior right-hander Trevor Bauer, who was 12-0 this season, has committed to UCLA and intends to graduate in December and join the Bruins in January.

Bauer said Saturday he wanted to finalize his decision before he leaves Monday for North Carolina to play in a tournament.

If he would have stayed for his senior season, he would have been considered a potential high draft choice. He has been throwing fastballs in the low 90s mph.

‘I’m excited to be playing for UCLA,’ he said.

Bauer’s arrival will give the Bruins potentially a group of top pitchers with last names starting in B _ Charles Brewer, Gavin Brooks and Bauer.

UCLA won out over Stanford for Bauer, who’s a top student and wants to be an engineer.
