All-City guard Jarred DuBois of Westchester has lost his appeal to have a letter of intent he signed last November with SMU voided.

The policy and review committee denied the appeal, which unless overturned by a final appeal option will force DuBois to sit out next season and have only three years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

His father, Gary, has said that DuBois will not enroll at SMU regardless of the decision. DuBois is expected to attend another school this fall.

DuBois decided to seek his release from SMU after believing that SMU Coach Matt Doherty did not follow through with promises he had made, according to his father.
