The state CIF track and field championships will be held for the next three years at Veterans Memorial Stadium on the campus of Buchanan High in Clovis, the CIF Executive Committee announced.

The Fresno-Clovis area has hosted state championships in the past, such as cross-country, track and wrestling. The venue features a Mondo Super X Track that was installed in the spring of 2007. The stadium seats 8,500 and additional seating will be added to bring capacity to more than 12,000.

It will be only the second time since 1947 that the state track and field championships will be held at a high school. The 2009 finals will take place June 5-6.
