Boys’ basketball: Taft-Dominguez showdown is set

Taft and Dominguez, two of the top Division I basketball programs in the state, are set to play Friday at 8:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal game of the Fairfax tournament.

Taft finalized the matchup Wednesday by pulling out a 63-61 victory over Long Beach Poly. Michael Williams scored 21 points and Terran Carter added 17 points.

The other Friday quarterfinal at 7:10 p.m. is expected to match Campbell Hall and Fairfax.
