Had the opportunity to see plenty of players last weekend at the Fullcourt Press All-West Camp in Hawthorne -- so many, in fact, there was no way I could have mentioned all the standouts with one blog. Now that I think about it, this is the fourth entry about the event.

As expected, everyone came out to see highly touted Jeremy Tyler and the 6-foot-11 junior from San Diego lived up to all the hype, and then some. But make no mistake, quite a few other individuals left a lasting impression during the action-packed, three-day showcase.

  • Derrick Williams: The 6-foot-7 senior forward from La Mirada is talented, no doubt about it. And while he is not considered a major Division I level prospect at this stage, programs such as Boston College, Marquette and Oklahoma St. are well aware of what he can do and have contacted him.
  • Rome Draper: Didn’t get to see the 6-foot-6, 200-plus pound senior from Etiwanda play a whole lot, but when I did see him he was impressive. The only question left about Draper appears to be: Is this kid a guard or a forward? One thing is perfectly clear, he’s capable of excelling at both positions.
  • Anthony Brown: At 6-foot-5, he’s got great size, better than most juniors. He is a bit slim, though, tipping the scales at 170 pounds on a good day. However, the weight issue isn’t a major concern because the youngster from Ocean View possesses a ton of upside. Several schools from the Pac-10, Big Ten and Big 12 Conferences have expressed interest recently.
