Received an interesting e-mail Friday morning regarding Football University‘s invite-only all-star camp that begins Saturday in Orlando, Fla. Apparently, this Top Gun Showcase brings together the nation’s top players for three days of training with former NFL players and coaches, and the Southland will be well represented at the event.

Cierre Wood is one of the headliners, and his billing as such is deserving considering the senior from Santa Clara, bound for Notre Dame, is regarded by most scouts as the top running back in the country. St. Bonaventure’s Patrick Hall will also be in attendance, along with Cathedral’s Randall Carroll and Inglewood’s Shaquelle Evans.
