Van Nuys Grant has been given a big boost after the City Section approved a hardship waiver for former Sherman Oaks Notre Dame quarterback Thomas Edwards.

Edwards, a senior, transferred to Grant over the summer and will be eligible immediately. He’s expected to take over as the starting quarterback for the Lancers. Edwards started last year’s Pac-5 Division playoff game for Notre Dame against Newport Harbor after an injury to Dayne Crist. He was beaten out for the starting position at Notre Dame during the summer.
