Mater Dei and Carson keep adding drama by failing to pull out a victory.

In the second overtime, Carson’s A.J. Ropati intercepted a Matt Barkley pass -- the fourth interception against Barkley.

Carson got the ball on its 10 and needed only to score to win. Daniel Torres was called for intentional grounding on the first play, putting the ball on the 21 with a loss of down. But Torres broke off a 15-yard run to the six.

That’s when Carson Coach Mike Christensen brought in Juan Sanchez for a 24-yard field-goal attempt on third down. But the snap was bad. On fourth down, Sanchez got another chance, this time from 31 yards. The kick was blocked by Christian Maldonado, forcing a third OT.
