Football: Where are the Mater Dei fans?

Game time is 20 minutes away, and there are fewer than 100 Mater Dei fans in attendance for the Carson-Mater Dei game at Long Beach Veterans Stadium.

The game is being televised by ESPN2, and it looks as if that’s going to hold down attendance. Or perhaps the 6 p.m. game time and traffic could produce a late-arriving crowd.
