Football: Garfield closes to 14-7 at halftime

Quarterback Patrick Vargas threw a 14-yard touchdown to Aaron Salas on fourth down with 5 seconds left in the second quarter to help Garfield cut Birmingham’s lead to 14-7.

Garfield has been impressive running the ball. Sergio Macedo has gained 58 yards in 10 carries and Franky Diaz has 41 yards in five carries.
