Football: Garfield is holding its own

After giving up a touchdown on the opening kickoff, Garfield has settled down and trails, 6-0, after the first quarter of its game against Birmingham.

The Bulldogs return two 1,000-yard rushers and have been starting to take time off the clock with their running game. Birmingham lost out on another opportunity to score when Garfield’s Lanny Delgado intercepted a Morey Croson pass on the Garfield four-yard line.
