Boys’ basketball: Fairfax to host top one-day event

Fairfax will be the site for a one-day boys’ basketball event, the Fairfax State Preview Classic, on Jan. 31.

The featured game in the five-game tournament matches defending City Section champion Taft against Etiwanda at 8 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., Campbell Hall will play Long Beach Poly. At 4:30 p.m., it’s Los Angeles Price against Torrey Pines. At 3 p.m., Santa Monica will play Oceanside El Camino. At 1:30 p.m., the Taft and Fairfax girls’ teams will play.
