Each and every time Saugus needed a big play during Friday night’s ‘s 42-20 nonleague victory over host Westlake, Desi Rodriguez delivered.

The 6-foot senior quarterback finished with 373 all-purpose yards for the Centurions (2-0). He completed 5 of 7 passes for 162 yards, rushed for 211 yards on 16 carries and accounted for three touchdowns. Not bad for a day’s worth of work, if you ask me.
