Baseball: Dana Hills pitcher helps U.S. win gold medal

Dana Hills junior pitcher Peter Tago, pictured left, struck out four and allowed no hits in three innings of relief to help the 16-and-under U.S. national team defeat Mexico, 7-3, Sunday night to win the gold medal at the COPABE ‘AA’ Youth Pan American Championships in Veracruz, Mexico.

Tago, who has committed to UCLA, was one of five Southern California players on a team that went 8-0 in the tournament.

Also contributing were pitcher Cody Buckel from Royal, pitcher Daniel Camarena from Bonita, infielder Christian Lopes from Valencia and outfielder Michael Lorenzen from Fullerton.
