Could Zena Edosomwan be the next big thing, the next standout at Harvard-Westlake? By most accounts, it’s too early to tell. He is, after all, only a freshman. A 6-foot-3, 180-plus pound freshman, that is -- a ninth-grader that possesses loads of upside.

He displayed some of his potential for scouts during the summer evaluation period. And you can count Wolverines Coach Greg Hillard as one of the believers in the youngster, although there are no plans for Edosomwan to play varsity ball. At least not yet.

‘We’re going to bring him along slowly because Zena is not a superstar at this stage of the game, not by any means,’’ Hillard said. ‘He will be good someday. He’s just raw right now. He’s still growing. There’s been a lot of people asking me about him though.’’
