They’re Titans, all right.

Tesoro has an offensive line that, in terms of size, could compete with just about anybody in the Pacific 10 Conference. The five Titans starters comprise 1,450 pounds of beef, with three players weighing more than 300 pounds and the average checking in at a still-hefty 290.

By comparison, USC’s starting offensive linemen average 296 pounds.

The best of the Tesoro bunch isn’t the biggest. He is 6-foot-4, 305-pound senior right tackle Josh Cabral, a behemoth who has already drawn interest from Arizona State and California.

‘I would bet he’s going to have his pick of places,’ Tesoro Coach Brian Barnes said.

Another player who should be a Division I college player, according to Barnes, is senior left tackle Evan Finkenberg, a converted tight end who checks in at 6-6 and 250.

There’s also senior center Brad Handfield (6-3, 330), junior left guard Sil Ajawara (6-5, 305) and senior right guard Ty Vanderford (6-3, 260).

Barnes said he figures his line, which hopes to protect quarterback Robbie Picazo on Friday when the Titans play host to Mission Viejo in a South Coast League showdown of unbeaten teams, is the biggest in Orange County. But is it the best?

‘Ask me again at the end of the season,’ Barnes said.
