San Pedro capitalized on Carson’s second turnover of the game, scoring on a 36-yard field goal by Donald Jarrin to take a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter of their Marine League opener at San Pedro.

It looked like the Pirates would score midway through the first quarter when a fumbled snap gave San Pedro a first-and-goal situation at the Colts’ five-yard line. But the Pirates fumbled two plays later.

Carson gained the only first down of the first quarter, on a 21-yard run by Ezekial Graham.

San Pedro quarterback Barry Heads completed a 41-yard pass to Joseph Deguchi to help move the Pirates deep into Carson territory, where their drive stalled before the field goal.
