Basketball: Village Christian’s Bak Bak commits to Cal

Bak Bak might be a relative unknown to some, but those that follow Southland hoops somewhat closely must be familiar with the talented 6-foot-10 senior from Sun Valley Village Christian who possesses tons of upside.

Originally from Sudan, he first made news around these parts by transferring to Village Christian in October of 2007. And Bak Bak was at it again over the weekend when he made headlines by committing to California.

‘Cal is a great place,’’ he said after choosing the Golden Bears despite receiving interest from Louisville, Oregon State and USC. ‘They have good academics, a great program and a great coach in Mike Montgomery. Cal is a good fit for me.’’
