Highland tight end Christian Thomas was a virtual unknown at the end of last season, but he’s quickly becoming one of the Southland premiere prospects.

And I’m guessing his popularity among recruiters will skyrocket now that USC has become the first school to throw an official offer his way. Thomas told Scout.com that he’s pretty sure he wants to be a Trojan, but he’s planning to hear what UCLA, Washington, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State have to say before making a decision.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Thomas leads Highland with 366 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately, his dominating on-field demeanor hasn’t translated into victories for the 1-5 Bulldogs.
