At the outset of the third quarter, Edison closed to within 16-10 in its game against Los Alamitos. Then the Griffins broke out their bag of tricks.

Quarterback Clark Evans pitched the ball to running back Cody Perez. Perez threw the ball back to Evans, who fired a 63-yard touchdown pass to Darryl Jenkins, putting Los Alamitos ahead, 23-10, with under two minutes left in the third quarter.
