Football: Vista Murrieta JV player dies

Vista Murrieta is playing with a heavy heart tonight in the wake of the sudden death of Shea Iose, a junior defensive end on the junior varsity team who collapsed and died at the school Wednesday evening.

Iose, 16, was on campus running toward his car when he collapsed, said Broncos Coach Coley Candaele. Paramedics were unable to revive Iose, who had no previous health problems, according to Candaele.

Vista Murrieta canceled its junior varsity game but will play its varsity game against Temecula Chaparral as scheduled. The school will honor Iose in a pregame tribute.

‘It’s a very difficult situation,’ Candaele said.
