Basketball: Diamond Ranch’s Johnson commits to Fresno St.

With so many talented wings in the Southland, it’s easy to overlook someone like Garrett Johnson. The 6-foot-5 senior from Diamond Ranch goes about his business quietly while everyone pays attention to guys like Jordan Hamilton, Michael Snaer, Solomon Hill and Tyler Honeycutt.

There are, however, several Division I programs out there that are familiar with Johnson. Fresno St., in particular, has been a big fan for quite some time now, so Coach Steve Cleveland and the rest of his staff must have been pleased when he committed to the Bulldogs following a recruiting trip.

‘I committed on my visit,’’ Johnson told RedWaveReport.com. ‘It’s a great place, a great community, they get great fan support, and the location is not too far away from home. It’s going to be a great experience.’’
