For the fourth time, Loyola had the ball deep in Bishop Amat territory, and this time the Cubs executed, with Brett Ackerman catching a 28-yard touchdown pass from Stephen Rokus with 3:59 left in the second quarter to give the Cubs a 7-0 lead.

Only two plays earlier, Loyola was called for a holding penalty, and its drive seemed stalled again.

Loyola’s Robbie Paton made an interception, his team’s second of the game, to give the Cubs the ball on the Loyola 48.
