Boys’ basketball: Pairings released for SFV Invitational

Pairings for the 32-team San Fernando Valley Invitational tournament were released Sunday night at a coaches’ meeting at Crespi. The tournament begins on Dec. 18 and concludes with the championship game on Dec. 23 at Crespi.

Crespi, Granada Hills, Alemany and Kennedy are the sites for games. Crespi, Oceanside El Camino, Clovis and Hart are considered the tournament favorites.

A good second-round matchup on Dec. 19 could be Reseda playing Crespi. Among the first-round matchups, Sun Valley Poly is playing Alemany, Chatsworth is playing Knight, Granada Hills is playing L.A. Baptist, El Camino Real is playing View Park Prep, Venice is playing Chaminade, Hart is playing San Fernando and University is playing Burbank Burroughs.
