Trajuan Briggs completed an 80-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown run, followed by a two-point conversion run, giving Birmingham a 14-7 lead over Taft with 5:53 left in the third quarter.
De’Von Flournoy made his first catch of the night for Birmingham, and Briggs’ punishing running was too much to stop. Now Taft has to get its offense back in gear to stay in this game.
