L.A. University has shown off two promising young players to advance to the championship game of the Burbank-Hoover tournament.

In a 74-49 victory over Glendale, 6-3 sophomore David Nwaba scored 20 points and had 16 rebounds. In a 68-54 victory over View Park Prep, Nwaba had 18 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots. The Wildcats also have a freshman guard, Keywhon Powns, who plays excellent defense. And 6-2 senior Andre Harris looks like a middle linebacker.

University won the City Invitational title last season and might battle it out with Reseda for this season’s title. The winner and runner-up earn automatic berths to the state Division II playoffs.
