Boys’ basketball: Ocean View advances to semifinals

Ocean View earned a spot in the semifinals of its own tournament Thursday night with a 49-46 victory over Pacific Hills. The Seahawks will play Leuzinger in Friday’s semifinals at 8:30 p.m.

Ocean View (6-1) held a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Pacific Hills (5-2) made a comeback, closing to 46-43 with 18 seconds left. That’s when Billy Keller made two free throws to ice the game. Mason Jones scored 12 points and Anthony Brown 10 for Ocean View.

Pacific Hills was led by Derick Flowers, who scored 18 points, and Alex Osborne, who had 17 points.

In an earlier game, Joseph Henson scored 28 points to help Pasadena defeat Rancho Verde, 51-38. Coming up is the Westchester-Etiwanda semifinal, matching No. 2 vs. No. 5 in Southern California.
