Boys’ basketball: Top teams heading to Mission Prep tourney

Some of the best teams in Southern California will be spending the first part of Christmas break in wine country when the San Luis Obispo Mission Classic gets underway Thursday.

This annual hoops fest is considered one of the top tourneys in the state and its National Division bracket is loaded with talent -- three of the eight teams in the bracket are in The Times’ Top 25 rankings.

Taft has to be considered the favorite, but Bishop Montgomery has looked decent and Campbell Hall has dominated everyone it has played. Talented squads from Sylmar and Los Osos will also be playing in the National Division bracket.
