In one of the strangest, most bizarre Mission League games I have seen, Harvard-Westlake defeated Loyola, 86-81, in a game in which there were 56 fouls and 81 free-throw attempts. Loyola got 23 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter and Harvard-Westlake had 22.

Austin Kelly scored 29 points for the Wolervines (11-5, 3-0). Miles Cartwright scored 30 points for Loyola (10-5, 3-1) and made 16 consecutive free throws.

Loyola trailed by 16 points in the second quarter, cut its deficit to six points at halftime, fell behind by 13 points in the fourth quarter and got within three points with seven seconds left.

Nick Firestone and Chris Barnum made major contributions for the Wolverines.
