Boys’ basketball: Taft’s Williams makes eight three-pointers

Taft senior guard Michael Williams finished with 29 points, including eight three-pointers, to help the Toreadors defeat Granada Hills, 81-56, in their West Valley League opener Wednesday.

Taft improved to 12-2. Granada Hills had gained respect with some impressive nonleague victories, including wins over Santa Monica and Valencia.

Greg Parker scored 17 points for Granada Hills, which got 10 rebounds in the entire game.
