By the end of the season, there could be about as many games played between Golden Valley and Hart as there are movies in the ‘Friday the 13th’ series. Or at least it might seem that way.

The Foothill League rivals have played each other three times already, with game No. 4 scheduled for Friday at Hart. Golden Valley, ranked No. 23 in the Southland by The Times, holds a two-games-to-one series edge.

The teams played in a semifinal of the San Fernando Valley Invitational (a 63-50 Hart victory), the championship game of the Hart tournament (a 96-89 Golden Valley triumph) and in the first round of league play (a 63-55 Golden Valley victory).

The teams won’t play a fifth time in the Southern Section playoffs because Hart is in Division III-AA and Golden Valley is in Division III-A, but they could meet in the Southern California regionals.
