Jacob Cano was a little-known junior guard for a middling Santa Maria St. Joseph’s team.

Cano’s off-balance, buzzer-beating shot from near half-court Friday night gave St. Joseph’s a 53-51 victory over Templeton and might have propelled him into cult status.

Check out the video, with the caveat that you have to get through about a minute and a half of highlights to get to the big finish. The winning shot is made at the 1-minute, 39-second mark, followed by a wild celebration and interviews.
