Boys’ basketball: Getting closer to showtime

You can tell the games are getting bigger at the Nike Extravaganza by the name-brand assistant coaches who are starting to show up. First it was UCLA’s Donny Daniels, and recently USC’s Phil Johnson entered the gym.
The best games are still to come: Westchester vs. Seattle Rainier Beach at 4 p.m.; Fairfax vs. Chicago Young at 5:30 p.m.; Dominguez vs. Concord De La Salle at 7 p.m.; and Mater Dei vs. St. Benedict’s at 9 p.m.
