Taft, expected to challenge Crenshaw for the City Section Division I football title this fall, has reached agreement to play Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in a nonleague game in the second week of the season.

That will produce an intriguing matchup of Notre Dame quarterback Ryan Kasdorf taking on USC-bound running back D.J. Morgan, pictured, of Taft.

The Toreadors are still searching for a game one opponent but also have scheduled Alemany, Saugus and Gardena Serra.
