After its 14-point, third-quarter lead was trimmed to four points midway through the fourth quarter, Pacific Hills recovered to hold on for a 59-47 victory over Morningside this evening in the Division V-AA championship at Ontario Colony High.

Senior guard Derick Flowers scored 21 points for the top-seeded Bruins (26-6), who won their second title in three years. Senior forward Josh Smith scored 16 points and senior guard A.J. Players had to be separated twice in the fourth quarter when things got a little testy, and technical fouls were called on each team.

After Morningside forward Daron Molock’s putback pulled the Monarchs to within 46-42, Pacific Hills went on an 8-0 run to pull away.
