Boys’ basketball: Tarbut V’Torah leads at halftime

Senior forward Alex Matros converted a putback in the final seconds before halftime to give Tarbut V’Torah a 19-18 lead at intermission over Desert Christian in the Division VI-AA championship at Colony High.

Senior guard Shar Younessi had seven points and six rebounds to lead the second-seeded Lions, who had led by as many as seven points in the first quarter.

Senior forward Nicholas Law and senior center James Nelson had six points apiece for the top-seeded Conquerors, who shot only 26.1% from the field to Tarbut V’Torah’s 40%.
