Girls’ Basketball: Harvard-Westlake takes the lead at halftime

Junior forward Sydney Haydel made a layup at the buzzer before halftime for Harvard-Westlake to give the Wolverines a 38-36 lead at intermission over Pacific Hills in the Division IV-A championship at Mater Dei High.

Junior forward Nicole Hung has 14 points, junior guard Nicole Nesbit has 13, and junior forward Sydney Haydel has 11 for Harvard-Westlake.

Senior guard Joanna Miller made eight of 14 field-goal attempts in the first quarter to lead Pacific Hills with 18 points.
