Boys’ basketball: Lots of scoring in Div. III-A final

With both teams racing back and forth while employing full-court man-to-man defenses, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake and Cerritos Gahr engaged in an entertaining first quarter today at the Honda Center, with Gahr holding a 23-21 lead in its Southern Section Division III-A final.

Erik Swoope has scored three baskets, including two dunks, for Harvard-Westlake. Unseeded Gahr (18-14), the third-place finisher in the San Gabriel Valley League, is receiving balanced scoring.
