There might not be a baseball team with a better starting pitching duo than Simi Valley Royal’s Bryan Berglund and Cody Buckel.

Each can throw in the 90s. Berglund has signed with Loyola Marymount. Buckel, a junior, is committed to Pepperdine. Each started his season impressively this past weekend.

Berglund threw five shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a 10-0 victory over Birmingham.

Buckel threw five shutout innings with nine strikeouts in a 9-0 victory over Paraclete.

Coach Dan Maye must feel as if he has Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale in his rotation.
