Down 15-0, Taft has rallied and cut its deficit to 30-27 at halftime of its Division I Southern California Regional quarterfinal game against Compton Dominguez.

The Toreadors got a six-point play at the end of the second quarter. Terran Carter was fouled while shooting, and Dominguez’s Norvelle Pelle picked up a technical. Carter made both free throws, Michael Williams made the two technicals and Pierson Williams made a jump shot.

Pierson Williams has been the big story for Taft, scoring 11 points off the bench to help the Toreadors come back from a lackluster start. Keala King has 10 points for Dominguez.
