Calabasas has apparently asked to leave the Marmonte League for football only starting in 2010, which would clear the way for Westlake Village Oaks Christian to join the league.

Two Marmonte League sources who asked for anonymity because they said their principals needed to make the announcement confirmed that Calabasas has requested to leave the league for football.

In the recent Northern Area meeting, a majority of schools refused to add Oaks Christian to the Marmonte League. That decision will be appealed to the Southern Section in May. If the Southern Section upholds the appeal, the Northern Area will be required to come up with a new plan.

Marmonte schools had said loyalty to Calabasas was the primary reason for rejecting Oaks Christian.
