Baseball: Alemany, Crespi win Mission League games

Mission Hills Alemany and Encino Crespi kept pace in the Mission League Friday. Alemany defeated Loyola, 6-5, with Anthony Esparza’s home run in the sixth inning breaking a 5-5 tie. The Warriors (6-1, 2-0) also got a home run from Mark Strazzeri and three hits from Christian Quijano.

Crespi (7-0, 2-0) defeated Chaminade, 4-0, with Ryan Brockett throwing a six-hitter. He struck out five and walked two. Next up for Crespi is a Tuesday showdown against defending Southern Section Division III champion Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in a 7 p.m. game at Birmingham.
