SACRAMENTO--St. Mary’s is showing why it has been to seven state championship games, outclassing Inglewood in the first half of the Division III championship game this afternoon at Arco Arena.

The Lady Sentinels, making their first appearance in a title game, kept things close until St. Mary’s closed the half on a 12-2 run to take a 36-22 lead into intermission. Junior guard Afure Jemerigbe was a handful for the Rams, scoring 15 first-half points and prompting students from St. Mary’s to chant, ‘You can’t stop her!’
