Football: Birmingham gets QB transfer

Birmingham might have found its starting quarterback for this fall with the arrival of Maxwell Smith, the backup quarterback at Mission Hills Alemany.
Smith, who will be a senior, is 6 feet 4 with lots of potential, according to Birmingham Coach Jim Rose.
Smith also once attended Granada Hills. He has been working out with private quarteback coach Erik Kramer.
