Jordan Hamilton didn’t get to play for Compton Dominguez last season after his hardship waiver was denied, but the Texas-bound standout is among the Southland stars scheduled to play in the Collision Scholastic Hoops Jam on April 25 at El Camino College.

The game matches the top players from the Southern and City sections against one another. Taft’s Derrick Taylor will coach the City team and Leuzinger’s Reggie Morris Jr. will coach the Southern Section team.

The tentative Southern Section roster: guards Darius Morris of Windward, Justin Cobbs of Bishop Montgomery, DeShawn Gomez of Inglewood, Donley Minor of Leuzinger; forwards Derrick Williams of La Mirada, Jerry Evans of Leuzinger, Hamiton, Kawhi Leonard and Chris Harriel of King, Christian Katuala of Etiwanda; and center Anthony Stover of Windward.

The tentative City roster: guards Dominique O’Connor of Westchester, Donnell Phifer of Narbonne and Michael Williams and Justin Hawkins of Taft; forwards Terran Carter of Taft, Tony Freeland of Fremont, Galen Bewernick of Manual Arts, Deshun McCoy of Westchester and Solomon Hill of Fairfax and James Boyd of L.A. Jordan.

In terms of star power, the Southern Section has the edge over its City counterpart. The Southern team has Hamilton, the Michigan-bound Morris, Minnesota-bound Cobbs, USC-bound Williams, San Diego State-bound Leonard, Portland State-bound Harriel and UCLA-bound Stover. The City team has two players headed to USC (Hill and Boyd) in addition to the Nevada Las Vegas-bound Hawkins, Cal State Northridge-bound Carter and DePaul-bound Freeland.
