Chris Leveque was a standout pitcher at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame during the 1990s, and now he’s the coach of the 9-0 Long Beach Wilson junior varsity team. And he’s got a player he thinks one day is going to make an impact at the varsity level.

Keith White, a 5-foot-10, 210-pound sophomore transfer from Long Beach Poly who’s a switch hitter with speed, has made quite an impression on Leveque. White can’t play varsity this season because he didn’t move, but Leveque believes White has as much potential as two other sophomores he once coached, Ryan Braun and Evan Longoria.
