Baseball: Mater Dei takes over first place in Trinity League

In a game for first place in the Trinity League, top-ranked Santa Ana Mater Dei held on for 3-1 victory over JSerra Monday night. Tommy Colton had a two-run single for the Monarchs (12-1, 5-1). The two teams play again Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Mater Dei.

JSerra drpped to 4-2 in league.

In another Trinity League game, freshman Art Vidrio threw a one-hitter to lift Orange Lutheran past St. John Bosco, 7-0. Orange Lutheran is 9-4 and 3-3.
